Job Description:
Alfred State seeks an experienced nursing educator for an adjunctclinical instructor position. Alfred State's Nursing Department has held a reputation for graduating excellent RN practitioners for nearly half century. Clinical instructors play a vital role in the education of our students.
A summary of responsibilities of Clinical instructors include:
Supervise care provided by a group of students (usually 8-10 students in a group)
Coordinate with clinicians at the clinical site to make student patient assignments
Teach students how to perform duties in the clinical site and answer their questions
Evaluate your students' clinical work. Participate in level meetings
Alfred State's Department of Nursing currently has 10 full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty, two support staff, and a team of clinical adjunct instructors. The department is housed in a newly renovated, state-of-the-art classroom and laboratory building equipped with 10 computerized simulation mannequins, two of them high fidelity.
Requirements:
A master's degree in nursing is preferred, Baccalaureate considered.
NYS Professional Nursing license and current CPR certification required, as well as a strong clinical background in healthcare care. Excellent teaching, clinical, and communication skills; critical thinking, problem solving, and organizational abilities; and computer skills.
Experience with simulation is also desirable.
