Job Description:
The E-Learning Training Specialist is a part time, temporary, grant funded position that will provide project management coordination and develop content to support a micro-credentialing pilot program. The key deliverable is to create online pathways allowing students to earn badges upon demonstration of specific and targeted competencies. The initial focus audience are students employed by the college. The purpose of the micro-credentialing project is to enhance student success, leadership ability, and workplace skills related to career readiness. The training specialist will have opportunity to leverage creativity, stakeholder input, and best practices to create the micro-credential pathways designed to enhance student workforce readiness and highlight achievements in co-curricular transcripts.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Provide overall coordination of the micro-credentialing project ensuring accountability to timeline and meeting expectations on deliverables.
- Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and consultation with on campus and community stakeholders.
- Design, develop, and organize content bench marked to industry standards, aligned with National Association of Colleges and Employer competencies and the SUNY Excels Framework, and informed by stakeholder feedback.
- Present content using a variety of instructional techniques and media formats relying on best practices.
- Create and populate space with training content on the Blackboard Learning Management System.
- Develop and organize training procedure manuals, guides, and documentation materials, such as handouts or visual materials to ensure long-term sustainability of the project.
- Coordinate development of promotional materials to market micro-credentialing project to students.
Requirements:
- Baccalaureate degree required
- Knowledge of principles and methods for education and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the assessment of project outcomes
- Experience training or teaching students within a corporate environment or higher education
- Familiarity with online teaching and learning
- Demonstrated use of technology for teaching or training
- Self-starter with demonstrated project management experience
- Strong work ethic with demonstrated collaborative and coordination skills
- Excellent communicator with strong writing and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and/or experience with micro-credentialing preferred
