Amherst College invites applications for the position of Assistant to the Director of Athletics and Athletic Trainer Intern. This is a 35 hour per week, casual position without benefits that goes until June 2019. The position is in the college’s Department of Physical Education and Athletics. The internship is funded by the NCAA Ethnic Minority and Women’s Grant. This grant is designed to provide financial assistance to the division’s member schools and conferences that are committed to enhancing ethic minority and gender representation in entry-level, intercollegiate athletics administrative positions.

The Assistant to the Athletic Director and Athletic Trainer Intern will be systematically exposed to a range of key Athletic Department administrative duties, while given the opportunity to gain hands-on experience as an Athletic Trainer. The intern will be mentored and guided by seasoned administrators, and given access to a new Staff Leadership Development Program run by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
