Description:
Amherst College invites applications for the Warehouse Coordinator position. The Warehouse Coordinator is a full time, year round position, job group and level AO-4. The Warehouse Coordinator, having a thorough understanding of product and equipment use, is responsible for the operational function of Seymour Warehouse, the central receiving facility at Amherst College which houses custodial supplies, equipment, furniture, and lighting. Responsibilities include using general accounting practices to maintain accurate records, working with vendors and making general repairs to custodial equipment. In addition, the manager performs general custodial duties, participates in office moves and set ups for special events, provides general trucking both on-campus and off-campus, and coordinates the work of special services generalists when in the warehouse.
This position is designated as providing essential services and is expected to report to work even if the College is closed for weather related or other reasons. Some overtime, weekend and occasional shift change work is required.
The Warehouse Manager takes appropriate actions to support a diverse workforce and participates in the College’s efforts to create a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Procure custodial supplies and equipment, and maintain accurate tracking of all warehouse items including furnishings
- Obtain and compare bids from vendors, partnering with the Director of Procurement as needed
- Execute and manage work orders through the facilities work order system using School Dude and EMS (Event Management System)
- Bill departments for services and materials, processing invoices
- Manage the warehouse operation
