Aurora University is an independent, comprehensive university offering undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degree programs and specialized courses. Aurora University (AU) operates two primary campuses: a campus of 37 acres in Aurora, Illinois; and the 137.5-acre George Williams College (GWC) on Geneva Lake in Williams Bay, Wisconsin. Aurora University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission to award degrees at the baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral levels. The institution enrolls approximately 5,500 degree-seeking students a year on its campuses. Classes are also offered at the Orchard Center in Aurora, Illinois and the Woodstock Center in Woodstock, Illinois. The university’s operations are supported by a workforce of approximately 450 faculty and staff. 
 
AU is a member of the NCAA Division III and sponsors 22 men's and women's intercollegiate sports.  Men’s volleyball and women’s ice hockey will begin in the 2017-2018 season and become AU’s 23rd and 24th collegiate sports.
