Job Description:
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work directly under the supervision of classroom teachers to provide general help and support. The Project Forward academic year runs from September 4 - December 14, 2018 and January 16 - May 20, 2019.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Assist teacher in both the classroom and field experience settings.
- Assist staff as directed in maintaining basic records.
- Model all classroom/vocation area behaviors as taught and expected by the teacher.
- Participate in lesson and classroom activities as directed by the teacher.
- Attend Project Forward's in-services and meetings for assistants.
- Obtain assistance from Project Forward office as directed by teacher.
- Assist with copying and transporting classroom materials.
- Direct students to appropriate location for class or work experience.
- Arrange classroom environment as directed by the teacher.
- Work under the direction of Vocational Instructor in the Seashore Café.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- One year of experience working with individuals with special needs.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong computer skills.
Additional Information:
COMPENSATION: Part-time position, up to 18 hours per week at $15.45 per hour. September 4 - December 14, 2018 and January 16 - May 20, 2019. Non-benefited, non-unit position.
