POSITION: Institutional Research Director
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve-month full time appointment responsible to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty with responsibilities for institutional research, analysis and assessment, data administration and reporting, and decision support. The successful candidate will effectively collaborate with college leadership to identify ongoing research needs, prioritize research and reporting projects, manage research design, data collection, data integration, analysis and final report preparation.
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in an analysis-oriented field; terminal degree preferred. At least five years working in a higher education environment conducting analysis, reporting and assessment, preferably within Institutional Research.
POSITION: The IR Director is responsible for strategic data analysis and assessment (including high end analysis, trend monitoring, forecasts and the establishment of research, projects and related policies; serving as internal resource supporting efficient and effective research collection, analysis, compliance and accreditation; development of comprehensive current and historical data bases.) Institutional data administration and reporting responsibilities include preparation of institutional responses to external queries and requests for data; planning and organizing regular internal and external reports and surveys. The IR Director supports institutional decision making by providing leadership to foster sound decision-making in regards to strategic planning, policy-making, resource allocations and assessment by the president and senior leadership team; by engaging in qualitative research activities that inform decisions around topics including new program development and curriculum; and by conduct benchmarking studies and comparative analyses of the institution relative to peer and aspirant institutions.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of current practice in institutional research, a working knowledge in applied statistical analysis, modeling and data mining techniques, including knowledge of tools such as SPSS, Access and graphic display software. The ability to design and implement both standardized and highly customized reports and studies to support management decision-making at all levels includes the knowledge and skills in assessment and program evaluation and experience with qualitative and /or quantitative research projects, including prior understanding of descriptive statistics, sampling, and multivariate analysis techniques. The successful candidate will have the demonstrated ability to work independently and demonstrate excellent organization and prioritization skills and possess excellent interpersonal and management skills and the capacity to work in a collegial manner with key personnel throughout the college.
