Description:
The Clemson University College of Education seeks highly qualified candidates to fill a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Educational and Organizational Leadership Development (EOLD). This nine-month appointment begins August 2019, and has a special focus on leadership for high-needs schools. The position involves maintaining an active research agenda, and teaching courses in the P-12 educational leadership preparation programs (MEd, EdS, EdD, and PhD). It also includes providing service to the university as well as scholarly and practitioner communities.

The College of Education is especially focused on serving underperforming schools as well as members of underrepresented, diverse, and marginalized populations. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and engaged faculty committed to fulfilling this mission through research, teaching, and service in higher education and P-12 settings. The candidate for this position is expected to fill a critical need for a highly collaborative colleague who desires to work within the southern contexts of poverty, race, and rurality. Clemson’s educational leadership programs are committed to an ongoing process of curricular and program improvement and to building partnerships with local educational authorities to prepare diverse cohorts of leaders who are representative of the diverse student populations in the region.
Responsibilities:
• Engage in research, publication, external funding, and other scholarly activities
• Teach courses in the educational leadership doctoral and master’s degree programs at various locations and through multiple modalities
• Advise doctoral and master’s degree students
• Provide service to the department, college, and university, as well as to scholarly and practitioner communities
• Participate in field-based research and service with P-12 partners

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
• Earned doctorate in educational leadership or a closely related field
• Record of academic scholarship with potential to develop a strong research agenda
• Potential to secure externally funded grants
• Ability to teach graduate courses in P-12 leadership programs
• Leadership experience in high-needs P-12 settings (building and/or district)
• Experience working with diverse student populations and/or communities
• Willingness to travel for course delivery, research activities, and partnership engagement
• Commitment to working with high-poverty rural communities
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience mentoring doctoral students to degree completion
• Experience utilizing quantitative research methods
• Facility with asynchronous learning, hybrid course development, and other online teaching methods
• Certification or licensure to work in relevant P-12 settings
• Experience working on collaborative teams
