Clemson University invites applications for the position of Chair of the Glenn Department of Civil Engineering. The Department seeks exceptional candidates with a strong track record of (1) high quality research and scholarship supported by federal, state, and/or industry funding; (2) demonstrated excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching; and (3) proven leadership/mentorship experience and a commitment to inclusion and diversity.

Clemson is a public, land-grant institution located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in upstate South Carolina between Atlanta, GA and Charlotte, NC. The Civil Engineering Department is at the forefront of exciting advances in research and education. This includes a 2017 NSF grant for Revolutionizing Engineering Departments (RED) – one of only 18 in engineering and computer science departments nationally. The grant is focused on developing a departmental culture of creativity, adaptability, and innovation fostered by concepts from complexity leadership theory. The department also leads the Center for Connected Multimodal Mobility (C²M²), which is a U.S. Department of Transportation Tier 1 University Transportation Center.
