General Description |
The Assessment Coordinator is responsible for contributing to the work of the Academic Assessment and Evaluation Office. Responsibilities include compiling, analyzing, and documenting data for program audits, student learning outcomes, and general education assessments. The coordinator may work collaboratively with faculty to assist in assessment processes under the direction of the Director. |
Specific Responsibilities |
• Write and assist in writing professional-quality reports for dissemination to a variety of stakeholders including the public, students, faculty, and members of the Board of Trustees. • Coordinate data collection and dissemination with faculty, academic deans, and other staff. • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of a cloud-based assessment repository system. • Support the Strategic Initiatives assessment plans for student learning outcomes in the coordination of the College’s assessment processes. • Assist in implementing studies to measure student performance against institutional core competencies/general education. • Serve as a resource working collaboratively with administration, faculty, department chairs and deans on academic assessment initiatives. • Gather, analyze, and interpret data for program audits. • Develop supplemental information for program audits such as program histories and future directions. • Maintain inventory of academic assessment tools and initiatives on campus, results of initiatives and use of results for improvement. • Assist the Director in responding to requests for consultation on assessment projects or assessment training. • Perform other duties as assigned. |
Minimum Qualifications |
• Bachelor’s degree required. Any and all degree(s) must be from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning. • Two (2) years of related experience in an academic setting using assessment required. • Strong oral and written communications skills, including the ability to clearly communicate about assessment methods and results in non-technical language required. • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, Excel and database software programs required. • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities required. • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills required. • Ability to identify and access supporting resources required. • Ability to work well independently and collaboratively required. • Ability to maintain sensitivity, understanding and respect for a diverse academic environment inclusive of students, faculty and staff of varying social economic, cultural, ideological and ethnic backgrounds required. |
Preferred Qualifications |
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Research, Social Science or related field preferred. • Experience in an analytical or research role preferred. • Demonstrated knowledge of educational testing, curriculum development and research design and methods preferred. • Familiarity with accreditation as it relates to assessment preferred. |
