Job Summary and Requirements |
Denison University. The Department of Anthropology and Sociology invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning August 2019. Ph.D. in Anthropology by August 2019 is required. We seek an anthropologist whose work is both empirically rigorous and theoretically sophisticated. Desired areas of expertise include medical anthropology or the anthropology of development. Research related to Africa (particularly West Africa), South Asia, and China are preferred. Ability to teach within a combined anthropology and sociology curriculum is necessary. Candidates must be able to teach social theory (both classical and contemporary), a qualitative methods course, a combined introductory course to anthropology and sociology, elective courses on sex and gender, and advanced courses reflecting both the candidate’s expertise and the needs of the Department. Candidates must demonstrate their contributions and/or potential to contribute to diversity through teaching, research, and/or service/leadership.
