Job Summary and Requirements |
Tenure-track position in Music: The Department of Music is seeking a violinist and pedagogue to coordinate the string area and teach related courses, starting August 2019. The ideal candidate will be an active, accomplished, and engaged artist scholar whose academic interests and abilities will broaden and/or deepen current departmental strengths. The ideal candidate will also have a passion for teaching in a liberal arts environment in an inclusive atmosphere. Candidates with an earned doctorate and college teaching experience, or with equivalent professional experience, preferred. Duties include building and maintaining an active violin studio and teaching other courses related to the successful candidate’s performance and scholarly interests. Options for courses may include, but are not limited to: chamber music, theory and aural skills, musicology and ethnomusicology, writing and research methods, or interdisciplinary courses that contribute to the University’s liberal arts mission.
