East Georgia College, one of the fastest growing two-year institutions in the University System of Georgia, is located in the friendly city of Swainsboro. Considered the access and opportunity hub of east-central Georgia, East Georgia College (EGC) is large enough to provide distinguished educational and cultural experiences for students and the surrounding communities, but is small enough to provide an individualized personal touch assuring supportive, student-oriented quality service. East Georgia College offers online degrees in general studies, psychology and sociology. Pursuing an on-line degree at EGC is resourceful: individualized learning and accessible faculty enable students to study and learn at their own comfortable and successful pace which often translates into goals being reached in a shorter amount of time; and often, when the cost of gas, parking, housing, and other fees associated with a traditional campus-based education are eliminated, students can save money by earning an online degree. The flexibility, convenience and affordability of an on-line degree through East Georgia College is a practical first step in completing a highly beneficial college degree.

Approximately 2,000 traditional and non-traditional students attend East Georgia College, which serves a rural, 18-county region with a predominately agricultural and manufacturing economy. Chartered in 1973, the campus spreads over 227 majestic pine-covered acres in Emanuel County and features a unique blend of nine modern buildings in a beautifully landscaped setting. Between classes, after business hours and on weekends, students, faculty and staff enjoy the scenic lake, series of nature trails, fitness center and gymnasium, lighted tennis courts, volleyball courts and 18-hole disc golf course. Emanuel County is just 16 miles from Interstate 16 and is conveniently located halfway between Savannah and Macon.
