Description |
Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Facilities and Campus Services, this position will encourage environmental stewardship and promote campus sustainability efforts. This position will be responsible for integrating, coordinating and reporting sustainable principles, goals and standards into operation, academic and outreach functions, including specific areas of the President’s Climate Commitment. |

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Education (including hardware, software, and equipment) |
• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience. |
Preferred/Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Education (including hardware, software, and equipment) |
• Working knowledge with STARS, AASHE, and the Presidents Climate Commitment. |
Required Prior Work Experience |
• 2-4 years of hands-on experience implementing environmental or sustainability programs or 5 years in a related field. |

Individual Work Activities |
Design, collect, analyze and report on current sustainability data, environmental stewardship, and green initiatives(i.e. President’s Climate Commitment at Emerson College. Monitor and evaluate Emerson’s efforts and programs against those of similar institutions. Identify opportunities and implement. |

Develop, plan, coordinate and implement programs, initiatives and resources by working with the President’s Sustainability Committee and student environmental organizations to promote campus awareness and visibility. Encourage all campus faculty, students and staff to participate in environmental programs and practices. |

Act as a central point of contact and resource for Emerson sustainability practices. Identify and adapt sustainability best practices. Keep current with sustainable laws, regulations, products, programs etc. and ensure that information is distributed appropriately. Keep the administration advised of changes in laws/regulations that may affect policies, require the implementation of new policies, or affect operating budgets. |

Partner with the academic community to provide assistance with Environmental Studies, research and programs. Understand the issues regarding sustainability and how to adopt behaviors that will promote a sustainable society. Provide support for sustainability projects among students and faculty. |
