Description |
The purpose of this position is to support the Business Services Office, mainly through participation in the management of owned, leased, occupied and operated properties. The person in this position is responsible for operation of function conference spaces. |
Primary Duties, Responsibilites, and Tasks | |
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Education (including hardware, software, and equipment) |
BA/BS, Familiar with Windows based MS Office suite software, customer service and contract negotiating skills good evaluative and analytical capabilities knowledge of event management software. |
Preferred/Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Education (including hardware, software, and equipment) |
MA/MS in Management, Administration or Event Planning, strong contract negotiating skills, and knowledge of Conference Programer software. |
Required Prior Work Experience |
3-5 years experience in administration, conference planning or event management. |
Special Instructions to Applicants |
Please note that this position will require you to be on campus when the rest of the college is closed, or curing less than ideal times to handle emergencies. |

Individual Work Activities |
•Participates in the management of owned, leased, occupied and operated properties, responsible for operation of function conference spaces. •Assist in the successful planning operating and growth of the conference program as well as contributing to the efficient and effective management functions within Business Services. •Manage multiple responsibilities pertaining to the preparation for organizations wishing to utilize Emerson spaces, develop and implement advertising needed to recruit new clients. •Support the conference program including budget development, and drafting contracts. •Support in the administration integration automation and oversight of key College Data system,. Actively participate in the development of a campus wide program to improve data integration. •Utilize strategic thinking to assess the needs of internal college clients as well as external Lessees. •Assist and manage assigned College events with an emphasis on detail and outcomes, address complex issues and understand the needs of the community. •Determine approach, set/up breakdown timeline as well as communicate the needs of each function to all appropriate internal departments. •Responsible for managing the inventory of campus event spaces. •Other duties as assigned. |
