Description
The School of Public Health, Department of Health Policy and Behavioral Sciences is seeking an Administrative Specialist, Managerial to be responsible for but not limited to the following duties and responsibilities:

Assist in managing the financial affairs of the department—monitor budgets and Faculty/Staff Development Accounts; make travel arrangements for faculty and administration, prepare expense reports, P-Card ordering, maintain inventory of office supplies, track fixed assets including computers, makes copies, and schedules meetings.

Create course schedules and staff them according to faculty workloads; Conducts program assessment; ensures programs and concentrations remain in compliance, and organizes curriculum revisions when necessary; perform APR duties as assigned to departments; lead recruitment and retention efforts for department programs and concentrations; coordinate admissions processes; respond to student petitions, complaints, and requests; ensure OAA and university advising and career services are accurate and up-to-date.

Support the School of Public Health events including room scheduling, food ordering and related functions; provide administrative support for elevating and tracking the department’s national presence through Academic Analytics; track engagement with professional and scholarly associations, funding agency boards, and other prestigious organizations.

Assist with faculty/staff candidate recruitment and scheduling; perform certain PeopleSoft transactions for new employees; support faculty/staff onboarding; monitor and report faculty workload and workload forecast; support faculty review process; provide departmental meeting minutes and notes; support vacation and sick leave approvals; document PTI needs and candidates; support GRA policy enforcement.

Assist in forecasting grant activities; communicate grant forecast to the Office of the Dean; coordinate space needs with the Office of the Dean; GRA assignments and time and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and five years of administrative experience; or a high school diploma or GED and nine years administrative experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
