Indiana Wesleyan University is an evangelical Christian comprehensive university of The Wesleyan Church, which has its world headquarters in Indianapolis. The University was founded in 1920 and is committed to liberal arts and professional education.
With a current enrollment exceeding 15,000, IWU is recognized by U.S. News & World Report as "one of the best Master's universities in the Midwest." IWU is the largest institution in the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) and the largest private university in the state of Indiana.

The University offers educational programs in three student-focused formats: On the traditional residential campus in Marion; at regional education centers; and through IWUOnline, the University's innovative internet-based delivery system, which currently serves more than 7,000 degree-seeking students.
The University's visually striking 365-acre campus in Marion is located near Interstate 69, about an hour from both Fort Wayne and Indianapolis. Adult education classes are taught at other Indiana education centers in Columbus, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis (north and west), Kokomo, Merrillville, Shelbyville and Greenwood. The University also five education centers in Ohio (Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus and Cleveland East and West) and three centers in Kentucky (Louisville, Lexington and Florence.)
During the past two decades, new construction and renovation have transformed IWU's Marion campus into a debt-free, ultra-modern, student-focused facility. IWU also offers adult and professional studies programs and conference services at 18 regional sites in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. Each leading-edge education center, designed to meet the needs of busy adults, is equipped with state-of-the-art classrooms, computers, electronic library access, study rooms and break areas.

IWU's Center for Life Calling and Leadership has earned a national reputation for excellence rooted in groundbreaking research and innovative application. The Center provides counseling, testing and mentoring at key transition points during the college experience to help students identify their unique sense of calling, purpose and career fit.
The College of Adult and Professional Studies is one of the nation's premier Christian adult higher education organizations, having been at the forefront of innovation in adult higher education for over two decades. The College of Adult and Professional Studies is home to the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) Center for Research in Adult Learning.
IWU was one of 12 independent colleges chosen nationally to receive the Foundation of Excellence Award from the Policy Center on the First Year of College. As a result, IWU is helping develop programs and best practices that many institutions across the country will view as the standard for outstanding first-year programming.
The academic quality of IWU students is commendable. The grade-point average of the incoming freshman class in the College of Arts and Sciences is 3.55, first to second year retention stands at 75 percent, and the six-year graduation rate is 69 percent. All of these numbers are above average relative to peer institutions. Additionally, the John Wesley Honors College helps attract and retain academically gifted students.
IWU faculty members have received awards from Fulbright, the National Endowment for the Humanities and the National Student Advocate.
IWU has 17 intercollegiate sports teams and participates in the Mid-Central Conference (MCC), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). Recent teams have won national championships in men's golf, women's tennis, women's basketball and women's indoor track.
