Commitment to Equal Opportunity:

President's Commission on Multicultural Affairs

The PCMA is charged with creating and developing a university climate of inclusiveness and diversity. It ensures that diversity remains a high priority in the strategic planning efforts of Kansas State University.

Commerce Bank Presidential Faculty/Staff Award for Distinguished Services to Historically Underrepresented Minority Students

This award, established in 1978, recognizes outstanding individual contributions to the development of quality education for students of color each year at Kansas State University.

Organizations/clubs/social networks: 

Many opportunities exist to explore cultures at Kansas State University and the surrounding community. Student organizations celebrate events such as MLK Observance Week, Hispanic Heritage Month, Cultural Community Harmony Week and many others. Several local cultural centers also serve the community.

Community: 

Manhattan rates among the best classic college towns in the country — it's big enough to offer opportunities and adventures but small small enough to center on the university. We're ranked among the Top 20 college towns in the country by the American Institute for Economic Research.
