The Successful Candidate will: |
The Instructional Designer will work with College of Arts and Sciences administrators, faculty and staff to develop strategic direction for online programs, facilitate the development of quality computer-mediated learning experiences, and support the assessment of learning outcomes. Candidates for the instructional designer position must have a strong background in higher education, curriculum design and educational technologies. Because technology in higher education changes rapidly, candidates for this position must be highly adaptable and willing and able to learn and implement new technologies quickly. Proficiency with curriculum/courseware development, classroom or online training and experience with a variety of software application is desired. Candidates for this position must be able to work with people at various levels of technical proficiency, as well as assist instructors in making their online courses compliant with the American with Disability Act (ADA). |
Required Minimum Qualifications: |
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in related field (or work equivalent). Must have one to three years of relevant experience. |
Preferred Qualifications: |
Master's degree with emphasis on Media Technology, especially instructional design for online courses. Experience with the Canvas Learning Management System. Experience working closely with faculty and staff in adult online learning/teaching environment. Expertise in the theory and practice of online learning in higher education. Understanding of American with Disability Act requirements. |
