Assistant Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Coach (Hurdles, Sprints, and/or Jumps)
Reports To: Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field Coach

Job Summary:
The Assistant Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Coach (Hurdles, Sprints, and/or Jumps) will assist the Head Coach with all duties of successfully operating our men’s and women’s track & field programs, including but not limited to recruiting student-athletes and assisting with training sessions/race preparation/race-day coaching.
Lawrence University is a member of the NCAA Division III, Midwest Conference, Northern Collegiate Hockey Association, and Midwest Fencing Conference. Responsibilities:
This position reports to the Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field Coach. The position receives specific assignments from and assists the Head Coach in performing any or all of the duties listed below:
- Plan and direct athletics skill development for student-athletes in hurdles, sprints, and/or jumps.
- Recruit student-athletes compatible with Lawrence University’s mission and the specific goals of the men’s and women’s track & field programs.
- Assist in developing pre-season, in-season and off-season training for the team with the Head Coach and Athletic Performance Coach.
- Assist in advising student-athletes and staff of applicable NCAA, MWC, and track & field specific rules, regulations, and University policies and ensure compliance of such regulations.
- Ensure appropriate safety measures are observed when conducting team activities.
- Cooperate with the University Athletic Trainers to ensure student-athletes receive proper medical and physical training services.
- Help coordinate activities in preparation for scheduled competition.
- Attend team practices and home and away contests.
- Assume responsibility to student-athlete compliance with all applicable rules and regulations. Assist the Head Coach and the Athletics Director in resolving cases where a student-athlete violates an applicable regulation.
Qualifications:
- Successful coaching and/or competitive hurdling, sprinting, and or jumping experience.
- Ability to recruit qualified student-athletes.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
