Diversity Profile

The Office of Diversity & Inclusion works with the Maryville community to make our campus a welcoming place for everyone. We play an important role in furthering the University’s strategic plan regarding diversity and inclusion through recruitment, student support, campus programming, collaborating with other departments and building community partnerships.

Mission

The mission of the Office of Diversity & Inclusion is to create a campus community that is diverse and inclusive of all identities (race, ethnicity, gender, class, ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Students involved with the Office of Diversity & Inclusion will transition through their student life journey with meaningful cultural experiences.

Vision

The Office of Diversity & Inclusion seeks to create an intentionally vibrant campus where students feel connected, respected, accepted and valued. We will accomplish this by honoring diversity, exploring social justice issues, celebrating traditions, cultivating student identities, supporting academic success and developing leadership capacity.
