Position Summary
The School of Social Work is dedicated to educating students for competent, responsive, and ethical social work practice. Our teaching, research, and outreach seek to promote positive change and social justice for diverse communities, organizations, groups, families, and individuals. More than 650 students are enrolled in our CSWE-accredited BASW and MSW programs, and PhD program.
The School supports MSU’s outreach mission through off-campus, distance, and blended instructional programs that utilize technology and innovative teaching strategies. We also provide multiple opportunities for creative interdisciplinary teaching and research, community-based studies, and partnerships with government agencies and neighborhoods.
The School of Social Work seeks candidates for 2-3 positions to teach courses in special topics and social work practice with individuals, families, groups, couples, communities, and organizations, to expand our elective course offerings for graduate students in our East Lansing and Continuing Education for practicing social workers. Course will either be face-to-face or internet.
Required Degree
Masters -Social Work
Minimum Requirements
MSW with two years of experience or five years of experience with practical application or research involving the subject taught in the course; professional qualifications in good standing with the appropriate professional regulatory board.
The successful candidate must also have demonstrated successful experience in teaching academic courses and/or training and seminars.
