Midlands Technical College is a comprehensive, multi-campus, two-year public college serving the primary region of Richland, Lexington and Fairfield counties of South Carolina.  College programs and services provide accessible, affordable, quality education that prepares a diverse student population to enter the job market, transfer to senior colleges and universities, and achieve their professional and personal goals.  Through its programs and services, the college equitably provides higher education opportunities and strengthens the economic and social vitality of the community.

Facilities

Located on 31 acres in Columbia, the Beltline Campus consists of 12 buildings with a total 232,539 square feet. The Airport Campus, located on 65 acres in West Columbia, includes 15 buildings with a total 258,357 square feet. The 34,360-square-foot Harbison Campus, located on 19 acres in Irmo, has seven buildings.  The Batesburg-Leesville Campus, located in western Lexington County, is home to an 8,025-square-foot education facility.  The Fairfield Campus, located in Winnsboro, is home to the 10,600-square-foot Fairfield QuickJobs Center, a collaboration of Midlands Technical College and Fairfield County.

The college's Northeast Campus, adjacent to the Carolina Research Park, is the site of MTC's Enterprise Campus and the MTC Center of Excellence for Technology. The Enterprise Campus at Midlands Technical College presents an innovative opportunity for enhancing economic vitality by recruiting and retaining regional business expansions through public-private partnerships.  The campus consists of 100 developable acres adjacent to the MTC Center of Excellence for Technology, and offers proximity to the Carolina Research Park, major Interstates and shared technology-specific spaces.

MTC also has a teaching location at Fort Jackson that serves enlisted personnel and civilians.

Faculty and Staff

The college employs approximately 600 permanent faculty and staff and approximately 400 adjunct faculty. More than three quarters of Midlands Technical College's faculty hold a master's or doctorate degree in their teaching field.

The college's general education core was recognized by the South Carolina Higher Education Assessment Association as "exemplary."

MTC's efforts to introduce cultural diversity into the curriculum received recognition as "Best Practices for Best Results" by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education.
