Assistant/Associate Professor of Accounting
Position: Assistant/Associate Professor of Accounting, Department of Accounting and Finance, William G. Rohrer College of Business – 10 month full-time tenure track position.

Department and College Information:
The Accounting Program at Rowan is ranked the third best accounting program in the State of New Jersey out of approximately 50 undergraduate programs according to the Accounting Degree Review (http://www.accounting-degree.org/best-undergraduate-accounting-programs-in-nj/). The department offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Finance. In addition, at the graduate level the department offers MBA concentrations in Accounting and in Finance, a Certificate of Graduate Studies in Accounting, and a newly launched Masters of Science in Finance. The Rohrer College of Business, which is accredited by AACSB International—The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) , had approximately 2,400 undergraduate and masters’ level students as of Spring 2018.
Within the department, the accounting program looks to enhance the integration of computing technology skills through curriculum and pedagogical development, while continuing to build the accounting, leadership, analytical and communication skills that the profession demands. This new faculty line will enable us to introduce new courses, enhance existing course offerings, and continue to build partnerships with employers and regional businesses.
Position Description:
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting, maintaining an active research agenda in a related area and in support of quality teaching, participating in assurance of learning activities, mentoring upper division students, engaging actively in department, college, university, and professional service, and participating in business outreach activities. Teaching assignments may include principles, intermediate and advanced courses in financial accounting and managerial accounting; however, qualified candidates in all areas of specialization are encouraged to apply. Courses are offered using various delivery modes, including traditional classrooms, hybrid, and online.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Accounting from an AACSB accredited institution by August 31, 2019 is required.
We seek excellence in teaching and demonstrated potential as a researcher. Professional certification in accounting is considered a plus (e.g., CPA, CMA, CIA). Prior experience in graduate and online teaching is desirable.
Starting Date: September 1, 2019

General Information:
The Department of Accounting and Finance is one of three academic departments within the Rohrer College of Business, which is AACSB-accredited. The other two academic departments are the Department of Marketing and Business Information Systems, and the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship. As of Spring 2018, there were approximately 540 undergraduate accounting majors. Significant enrollment growth has been experienced in the major, as well as across the Rohrer College of Business and Rowan University. We expect continued strong enrollment at all levels. The Rohrer College of Business moved into a brand new, state-of-the-art building in January 2017.
