Job Description:
Saybrook University is seeking Teaching Assistants to join its College of Social Sciences. Courses for Spring 2018 (one TA per course shell; course enrollment of 12+):
Under the direction of the course instructor, the Teaching Assistant (TA) is responsible for supporting the development of the course, student matriculation, and instruction.
A. Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Meeting periodically with course instructor
- Participation in the building of the course shell
- Responding to student posting and/or course assignments in coordination with the instructor
- Follow up with students accordingly
B. Position Requirements:
- Committed to advancing the Saybrook mission and academic excellence
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Log into course shell at an agreed upon expectation with the course instructor
- Respond to emails within 24 hours during business week
C. Position Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program in the Department of Humanistic and Clinical Psychology for at least 4 semesters and is in academically in good standing
- Student has successfully completed the course in which he or she is applying to TA
Compensation
A. Must be eligible for Federal Work Study.
