Position Information

This is a full-time, benefits eligible, permanent (probationary) position. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs. Reporting to the Director of Communications Services, the Graphic Designer II works collaboratively and independently on a variety of small- to medium-sized projects. The Graphic Designer II creates effective visual communications materials for clients through developing multimedia or component communication projects and developing logos or templates. The Graphic Designer II prepares layouts and produces materials using standard skills and knowledge related to the design, creation and display of visual print, multimedia and electronic materials. The Graphic Designer II would have advanced graphic and artistic ability, as well as the ability to use a wide variety of materials and techniques to accomplish the goals of the client and the department. Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $3,717 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,717 - $6,530 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources. Qualifications

||
Minimum Qualifications Entry to this classification requires foundation knowledge in the principles and techniques of artistic and graphic design as well as demonstrated design and artistic skills. This knowledge and skill normally is obtained through a college degree in graphic design, fine arts, or a related field or through technical experience and/or relevant coursework.
