Position Information

This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent (probationary) position. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs. The primary purpose of this position is to collect, deposit, and record all receipts owed to and accounted for by the University, primarily the more complex payment transactions. The responsibility of this position includes the review of Chancellor’s Office and SDSU policies and procedures as they relate to cash handling on campus as well as offsite (main campus and all satellite cashiering offices) and make recommendations to the Assistant Manager, Student Account Services Cashiering to ensure compliance. This position is also responsible for researching and resolving payment issues. In addition, this position assists with customer service, is a resource to staff in Student Account Services, handles escalated situations were a supervisor is needed and acts as a backup when Manager is unavailable. This position assists the Assistant Manager, Student Account Services Cashiering in staying current with and meeting various processing deadlines for fee payments which include, but are not limited to, tuition/fees, housing fees, applications for admissions, graduation applications, transcripts, vendor payments, etc. This position’s duties are varied and require accuracy, attention to detail, tactfulness, and flexibility. Thorough knowledge of internal policies and procedures, as well as, CASHNet, ASCOT and general accounting principles are integral to this position. Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $4,043 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,010 - $5,290 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources. Minimum Qualifications Equivalent to three years of progressively responsible financial record-keeping and cash management experience which has provided the knowledge and abilities listed below; Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities.
