Position Information

This is a full-time, benefits eligible, permanent (probationary) position. This position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs. Under the direction of the Director of Student Recruitment and School Relations, this position is responsible for independently scheduling and carrying out strategic admission recruitment activities to a select number of area schools. Activities to be carried out include admission presentations, application workshops, college fairs, and other recruiting events. These activities are conducted on the SDSU campus as well as at various school sites to which the incumbent must travel off campus. This position works in the Prospective Student Center and advises prospective students, families, and the campus community on admissions requirements, the SDSU and CSU application process, services on campus and other University related information. This position represents SDSU to a variety of constituents and maintains positive relationships with high school and community college counselors, and the general public. This position plans, coordinates, and facilitates strategic, large scale SDSU and CSU conferences or events for school counselors and targeted student populations. The incumbent is responsible for all facets of the program, including supervising the budget for the event, booking the venue, soliciting other CSU campuses for their participation, collaborating with SDSU faculty, staff, students, and other SDSU offices, and providing detailed data and reports to the Director of Student Recruitment and School Relations.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $4,388 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,179 - $5,942 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job-related field. Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown below may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Possession of the required knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent of two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth.
