Do you want to be part of a dynamic and innovative engineering program? The Picker Engineering Program at Smith College invites applications for a two-year, benefits-eligible position at the rank of Lecturer to begin July 1, 2019. Responsibilities include teaching five engineering courses per year, including core required courses in our mechanics sequence (EGR 270 Engineering Mechanics and/or EGR 374 Fluid Mechanics).
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in engineering or a closely related discipline by the time of appointment and a commitment to excellence in teaching. Candidates with demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations are especially encouraged to apply.
Smith College's ABET-accredited Picker Engineering Program is situated within a liberal arts college and is the nation's first such program at a women's college. The Program, which is located in a LEED® certified, 400,000 square foot science and engineering building with state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities, prepares our diverse engineering student body for global citizenship and a sustainable future. Our graduates integrate deep understanding of technical principles with knowledge from across the liberal arts to address society’s challenges.
