Position Summary
Dominican University of California is seeking an experienced, dynamic individual to teach in our Graduate and Single Subject Credential Programs, and serve as Program Director for the Single Subject Program. This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position to begin August 2019. A strong candidate would have experience teaching in the secondary setting, an earned doctoral degree (ABDs considered) and evidence of successfully working collaboratively across programs and disciplines. Responsibilities
- Teach two-four unit courses at Graduate level
- Attend and contribute to faculty meetings and other professional development activities
- Participate in curriculum development for individual courses and overall program
- Mentor and advise students on the progress of their projects and coursework
- Uphold academic performance standards and integrity
- Demonstrate effectiveness in teaching, service, and scholarship at Dominican.
- Work collaboratively across academic programs.
- Supervise student teachers and interns
Qualifications
- Earned Ph.D. or Ed.D.
- Successful teaching experience in public schools at the secondary level for at least 3 years.
- Strong commitment to diversity and multicultural teaching/learning.
- Strong supervisory skills.
- Experience in differentiating instruction for students with special needs and English language learners.
- Preference for experience teaching in credential programs.
