We have an opening for dual credit Manufacturing faculty beginning with the Fall 2018 semester. Qualified applicants will currently be employed at New Trier High School District as a teacher.
Job Description:
Oakton has an opening beginning with the Fall 2018 semester for dual credit Manufacturing faculty to teach Introduction to Manufacturing Processes.
Introduction to Manufacturing Processes examines the basic manufacturing processes from product design through production and quality testing. Content includes design for manufacturing, concurrent design, constraint management, measurement tools, blueprint reading, CNC machine setup, CNC machine programming (lathe and mill), rapid prototyping, and quality control using geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). This is a hands on, team based, class designed to give students an overview of the processes used to design and manufacture complex products.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in a related engineering or technology discipline, and a minimum of one year of manufacturing experience are required. Also required is current teacher employment with the Maine Township High School district.
Additional manufacturing work experience, prior post secondary teaching or training experience, and a Master's degree in a related field are preferred.

Part-time faculty are hired on a semester-by-semester basis. A reasonable effort is made to assure the assignment of courses to more senior part-time faculty who are fully qualified by virtue of their education, training, work experience as related to current technology and pedagogical techniques, and who have had a history of successful performance at Oakton Community College.
All assignments are conditioned on sufficient enrollment. Once a course starts, the part time faculty member is expected to complete the course.
