- Meets with students in tutoring sessions or on a small-group basis to provide learning assistance.
- Explains material to students utilizing a variety of learning strategies.
- Maintains a weekly schedule of available hours in the Academic Support Center for student appointments for content course and/or learning strategies.
- Keep regular and accurate records of tutoring sessions using the TutorTrac software and Tutoring Log.
- Contacts instructor of class(es) when appropriate to obtain any necessary course syllabi or materials.
- Participates in tutor-training sessions.
- Attends all staff meetings and professional development sessions.
- Follows policies and procedures of department and RCGC.
- Assists with additional duties such as covering front desk, answering phones, organizing materials, and performing other clerical duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Earned "A" in course(s) interested in tutoring
- 3.0 minimum GPA
- Good interpersonal communication skills and the ability to relate to people from varying educational, cultural, and social backgrounds
- Sensitivity and desire to help fellow students
- Work ethic that involves responsibility, reliability, and punctuality
- Appropriate and professional conduct is required
