The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Rowan University is seeking to hire a tenure-track assistant professor in the general area of physical or materials chemistry beginning September, 2019. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a closely related field and possess postdoctoral experience. The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop an externally-funded, sustainable research program, and be active in service. In addition, opportunities for inter-disciplinary research exist both on the main campus in Glassboro and with the two medical schools, Cooper Medical School of Rowan University and the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine located nearby.
The Chemistry & Biochemistry Department dedicates itself to excellence in teaching and research by promoting a student-centered approach to learning in a research-rich environment. Our faculty are particularly active in research and we offer several high-quality undergraduate and graduate programs. We are also committed to providing students with an outstanding education and to increasing the participation and success of under-represented students in STEM fields.
