Job Description Summary
This part-time position will be responsible for choreographing and teaching cheer routines to the cheerleading squad for the enhancement of game atmosphere at sporting events and as they serve as ambassadors of the University.
Job Description
Oversee all aspects of the student athlete development and performance of the men’s intercollegiate golf program to include:
- Coordinates all aspects of the cheerleading program for the intercollegiate athletics program focusing on proper technique and safety. This is a non-competitive squad with limited stunting.
- Coordinates appearances and scheduling for athletic events and community service projects. Responsible for the cheerleaders’ technical expertise, creative instruction and team travel arrangements.
- Administrative duties include assisting with budget forecasting, monitoring expenses and management of the cheerleading budget.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of business and accounting procedures.
- HS diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university preferred
- Some experience coaching high school or college cheer or spirit team.
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate with numerous University constituencies in an effective manner
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Abilities:
- Ability to coach cheerleading techniques and safety guidelines is essential.
- The ability to work a non-standard workweek which may include evenings, weekends and holidays is mandatory.
- Ability to work independently, as well as within a team-oriented work group
