Educational and Experience Requirement |
Associates Degree in related field. Two years relevant administrative assistant experience or experience in a related field. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience. |
Nature & Purpose of Position |
Performs clerical work and routine administrative support for the Office of the Dean. |
Primary Responsibilities |
May include but not necessarily limited to the following: Prepares and or distributes routine and special correspondence, reports, forms, and documents. Maintains files and records for an organizational unit or administrator. Assists in compiling statistical data, and preparing various charts, graphs, and written summaries. Performs complex data entry. Assists in the development of policies and procedures. Interprets and explains rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Reviews documents and forms for accuracy, requesting missing information and documentation as needed. Trains other staff regarding policies, procedures, and operations. Provides assistance answering phone calls, routing incoming calls, taking messages, greeting visitors, and directing them to the appropriate staff. Performs other related duties as assigned. |
Other Specifications |
Supervise student assistants. Daily contact with faculty, staff, university personnel, and outside agencies. Other requirements: the ability to learn office and university-specific software; ability to work and maintain confidential information and, the ability to set priorities and complete tasks on time. |
