Position Information

This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position anticipated to end on or before 10/31/2019, with the possibility of reappointment and/or permanency. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs. The clerical staff consists of one Administrative Support Coordinator II and one full-time Administrative Support Assistant II, as well as work study and student assistant positions. The Political Science Department conducts a full range of normal departmental activities. The Administrative Support Assistant II position reports to both the Administrative Support Coordinator and the Department Chair. Expected objectives of the position are that the Political Science Department will receive essential support. Correspondence, research, and other materials will be prepared accurately, neatly, and promptly. Requests for information will receive accurate and prompt responses. Complete files will be maintained. Reproduction requests will be handled efficiently and in a timely manner. Student workers will receive prompt and appropriate training. Equipment will be maintained. Telephones, receptionist, and mail responsibilities will be met efficiently and courteously. Department special events will be successfully organized. Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $2,780 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $2,600 - $4,458 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
