Position Information

This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent (probationary) position. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs. Under the general supervision of the Director of the Digital Humanities Center, the person in this position will provide assistance for the daily operations of the Digital Humanities Center. The person in this position will support the Digital Humanities Librarian in overseeing space usage and activities, compiling usage statistics, and maintaining an inventory of hardware/software. This person will also liaise with the Library’s IDT staff, coordinate access to rooms in the Digital Humanities Center, plan library sponsored events, maintain a master calendar of events, be the point person for Digital Humanities events, coordinate projects, experiment with new software and hardware, and deliver just-in-time consultation with faculty and staff. Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $3,194 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,101 - $5,809 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Incumbents at this level work independently to perform more complex technical tasks in a specified functional area within a library unit and may provide functional oversight for assigned area. Work requires them to be fully proficient in all aspects, methods, and procedures associated with their assigned functional area, including the ability to use judgment in interpreting policies and solving problems, and a general knowledge of overall library activities, policies, and procedures. Incumbents also may be responsible for coordinating work of student workers assigned to the area and may participate in hiring, training, evaluating and payroll processing of student workers. These qualifications for entry to Position Skill Level II normally would be obtained through the completion of a high school education or equivalent certification plus two to three years of related library and/or clerical experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
