Position Information

This is a full-time, benefits eligible, permanent (probationary) position. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs. Under the general supervision of the School Director, the Equipment Technician will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on the School’s equipment and facilities. Incumbent will work with members of the School on safe use of equipment; inventory, order, pick-up and stock supplies and equipment parts; fabricate and install equipment as necessary; and provide construction support for the galleries. Incumbent will train and supervise student workers on general repair and maintenance projects. The Equipment Technician will possess the expertise necessary to support the School’s growth in 3D modeling (CAD), maintain digital assets, and digital fabrication (CNC/CAM). Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $3,419 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,419 - $6,007 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
