Position Information

This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent (probationary) position. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs. Under the direction of the school’s director and administrative coordinator, the incumbent provides administrative and informational support to a complex academic program, which includes support for the school, faculty, students and staff. The incumbent has primary responsibility to provide administrative support for the School of Public Health’s joint doctoral programs. This position serves as a liaison between UCSD and SDSU faculty/staff in support of all three Joint Doctoral Programs (JDP) in the School of Public Health. The person in this position will also organize and update the class schedule, and coordinate administrative services for the online MPH program in Health Promotion and Behavioral Science. In addition, this position is responsible for coordinating the appointment of adjunct faculty, and assisting with the recruitment of new tenure track faculty. The ability to organize, direct, and prioritize multiple duties and tasks in a dynamic working environment is an essential requirement. This position functions as an information resource for students, faculty, prospective students and the community, by assisting with the maintenance of the SPH and JDP website. The incumbent is expected to be proficient in a full range of office support technology and systems, including word processing and spreadsheet packages, and desktop databases. The incumbent will be required to complete projects using desktop publishing packages with graphics capabilities, including graphics manipulation programs, such as Photoshop, and WordPress and/or Cascade CMS for website development. Day-to-day work is performed independently. Assignments and projects often involve coordinating with other work groups to gather routine information and solve problems. Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $3,131 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $2,846 - $4,998 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite. These qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.
