The Senior Director of Environmental Health & Safety is an experienced and hands-on leader who reports to the Associate Vice President of Administration. The Senior Director of Environmental Health & Safety is responsible for the operational management of the Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) department, consisting of the following functional units: Laboratory/Research Safety and Industrial Safety/Hygiene and Environmental Programs. This position will establish a strategic departmental operational plan with specific and measurable goals and monitor progress against this plan. The Senior Director of Environmental Health & Safety will also serve as the point of contact with governmental safety and regulatory agencies on environmental, safety, and emergency management issues that affect the University. This position will provide professional advice to campus leadership, faculty, and staff on safety and regulatory issues affecting the University’s instructional and research functions.
