Position Information

This recruitment will be used to establish a pool of candidates for current and future hourly (intermittent), temporary appointments. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Work schedule to be arranged. Tutors foster student independence, active learning, and motivation in the learning process by utilizing techniques that encourage students to analyze the course content on their own. The role of the tutor is to change students’ thinking and clarify course material during individual and group tutorial sessions. Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $19.11 per hour. CSU Classification Salary Range: $19.11 - $23.37 per hour. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources. This salary range is inclusive of the CSU/CSUEU collective bargaining agreement (CBA) provision that per diem employees hired on an hourly/intermittent basis receive an additional 29% above the regular hourly base rate. |

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job-related field. Specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
