About the Position
|

The Classroom and Security Camera Technology Coordinator provides technical support maintenance and training to faculty, staff, and students. This position works on 2nd level classroom problems, work assignments, security camera technology, and assists with project coordination, infrastructure analysis, and technical support and helps with selected IT projects.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 1. Communication Systems and User Support: -Provide consultative and technical support to the university community to ensure problem resolution, system access, and optimal system performance. -Communicate the technology and service upgrades to IT and the campus community. -Create, escalate, track and resolved service requests (SR) by providing information to users and engage teammates or external vendors to resolve SRs. -Assist in maintaining the Campus security camera system and classroom technology to ensure that policies are adhered to and properly articulated, coordinate the maintenance and collect usage data. -Perform website content updates for campus security camera system and classroom technology, and provide end user training. -Provide assistance to the CATS team in the area of campus security camera system and classroom technology and solutions. -Collect, maintain and analyze data to produce reports on service requests that are recorded and entered in iSupport and retire/close appropriate requests, as they are completed or implemented. 2. New Technology Classroom Support: -Under the guidance of Senior Staff: Operate, support and document new technologies fpr security camera systems in Classrooms and on campus. Monitor the Cisco and Vyopta Lecture Capture Systems, Cisco Telepresence, Crestron and Vyopta Control Systems, zoom communication tools. -Assist in analyzing and resolving technical problems related to the systems, as well as assist with project coordination to outside vendors or contractors called in to perform further maintenance on the University purchased system. -Provide support for the current campus lecture capture solution and for classroom technical problems. Operate, troubleshoot and perform maintenance on classroom audio/visual technologies and respond to service calls both over the phone and in person. -Assist in the evaluation, purchase and maintenance of classroom technologies and assist in preparing requests for proposals, cost estimates, and justifications. -Assist in installing, configuring, monitoring, maintaining, analyzing and resolving technical problems related to AV and security camera control systems, streaming systems, and other interactive devices. Maintain necessary documentation; track trouble tickets, and repair records of hardware/software inventories on Macintosh and Windows operating systems. |

Education and Experience
|
||||||||||||||||||||||||
Bachelor¿s degree in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related fields, or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study.

Preferred Qualifications
|
||||||||||||||||||||||||
-Minimum two years of experience in customer service for technical support.
-Experience working in Higher education. -Experience documenting and providing user training. -Experience using a ticketing system. -Experience with video camera systems. |

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
|
||||||||||||||||||||||||
-Working knowledge of office methods, procedures and practices, English grammar, and ability to compose and appropriately format correspondence and reports.
-Knowledge of Cisco Collaboration and other Technologies including VSAM, camera, VoIP, Video, VideoCapture, and TelePresence. -Ability to integrate multiple systems in a university setting. -Proficiency using standard software packages. -Knowledge of systems administration principles and techniques and network administration. -Ability to coordinate and implement data exchanges and conversions and analyze system requirements. -Ability to analyze, monitor, and troubleshoot systems performance and usage and provide appropriate support. -Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills working with end users to interpret needs and provide appropriate solutions. -Knowledge of office productivity software. -Ability to analyze data, create reports and present findings to management. -Knowledge of and ability to apply a variety of state, federal, CSU and SJSU policies and procedures. |
