Title: Advancement, Outreach, and Business Development Assistant
Department: University Advancement & Outreach
Reports to: Director of University Advancement & Outreach
Saybrook University is seeking an Advancement, Outreach, and Business Development Assistant to join its office of University Advancement & Outreach.
Under the direction of the Director of University Advancement & Outreach, the Assistant is responsible for supporting the successful implementation of the department’s alumni, prospective student, and community engagement strategies; development and marketing efforts, and strategic communications. The Assistant provides logistical support, drafts communications, and supports on-ground and virtual events in support of these initiatives.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support promotion and execution of grassroots recruitment, alumni & community engagement, and other Advancement & Outreach events
- Assist with registration for identified conferences, graduate fairs, and other grassroots outreach initiatives, and help coordinate logistics for those events
- Support virtual engagement and outreach events by posting and advertising events
- Attend and support grassroots outreach and advancement events in student’s local area as needed, representing Saybrook University at exhibition booths, grad fairs, and alumni & community events
- Draft and edit content for marketing materials and communications for the offices of University Advancement & Outreach and Business Development & Operations, and the office of the President, including, but not limited to, the President’s Monthly Newsletter
- Update content for the Saybrook website, ensuring ongoing accuracy of the site
- Manage and grow the community’s brand presence through social media platforms.
- Support to the Director of Business Development & Operations as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements and Qualifications:
- Current student of Saybrook University, eligible for Federal Work Study
- Experience in Admissions, Outreach, and/or Advancement preferred
- Strong editing and writing skills, including experience in developing web content
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Exemplary work ethic
