Visiting Assistant Professor Psychology – Cognition
St. Norbert College invites applications for a visiting assistant professor in psychology specializing in cognition (additional expertise in physiological psychology or neuroscience preferred) to begin in August 2019. The position is renewable for up to three years, contingent on annual performance review. The successful candidate will teach a section of Memory and Cognition (an upper-level course with a laboratory) each year; share responsibility for teaching General Psychology and Basic Statistics; and offer additional courses consistent with her or his interests and expertise. Faculty members typically teach two lab courses or three lecture/discussion courses each semester. Opportunities exist for research and for recruiting undergraduates to serve as research assistants. Visiting professors have no committee or academic advising duties.
While preference will be given to candidates who will have completed their Ph.D. by the time of employment, well-qualified ABD candidates are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will become a member of a five-person psychology discipline that serves about 170 majors and minors (www.snc.edu/psychology). The current discipline members represent a broad array of subfields. They share a commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduates and collaborating with or supervising them in research and/or internship activities. The discipline is housed in a new, state-of-the-art science building with five dedicated psychology research spaces (www.snc.edu/naturalsciences/gms.html). Shared research resources also include 32-channel EEG system, Qualtrics, E-Prime, and research participant recruitment system (SONA).
St. Norbert College is a selective, residential, liberal arts institution with a stable enrollment of 2,200 students.
