SUMMARY:
The SIS Senior Business Analyst works closely with the Associate Vice President (AVP) to develop, analyze and assess a strategic enrollment management campaign by integrating student data regarding admissions, financial aid, scholarships, orientation, housing, and retention. Position supports enrollment growth with new freshman, new transfer, continued enrollment with undergraduate and graduate students. Position is responsible for leading and serving on the Student Information System (SIS) team and documents team progress and reports on project deliverables. A key deliverable will be the creation and maintenance of a centralized enrollment analytics campaign which will in turn positively impact and influence planned and strategic enrollment management for the institution in the areas of: retention; persistence; enrollment growth; graduation of current and future students; and its impact on future enrollment objectives and institutional revenue.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicates objectives and formulates solution requirements to parallel business strategies.
- Identifies business needs, problems, or opportunities.
- Tracks activity across the various ticketing systems and help triage service and incident requests.
- Creates and documents business cases or proposals.
- Conducts stakeholder, feasibility, and cost benefit analysis.
- Defines and manages solution scope, and ensures that all deliverables align with the solution scope.
- Translates business processes, needs and goals into functional and operational requirements.
- Documents as-is and to-be business processes and conduct gap analysis.
- Analyzes business processes and make recommendations in areas for improvement.
- Works closely with the IT Business Analysts and/or data representatives within the Admissions, Recruitment and Student Financial areas. Compiles and reviews data to produce weekly status reports and resource allocation analysis.
- Works with development team to identify and design the solution.
- Meets with development team throughout the development phase to ensure the solution is thoroughly documented and meets the functional, operational and design requirements.
- Hands off testing initiatives to QA for testing of system functionality and user acceptance.
- Works collaborative with the various delivery directors on the CAG account intake process.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelor's degree.
- Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Five (5) years of related experience (combination of direct and indirect experience with transferable skills will be considered for total years of experience). SQL and ERD diagram knowledge and experience. Demonstrated understanding of business analytics and project management practices. Experience creating reports using Tableau or another dashboard tool. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite with a focus on Excel, Project and Visio. Proficient analytical, research, and interviewing skills. Strong initiative and self-started skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate and work with a wide variety of people such as end users, executives, and technical teams.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or Math-intensive degree.
