The School of Art & Art History (SAAH) at the University of Denver has offered instruction in Art and Art History since 1880 and is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. SAAH offers courses in Studio Art and Art History and contributes to Common Curriculum courses for the larger university. SAAH currently includes 13 full-time faculty and serves an average of 120 undergraduate majors annually, in addition to approximately 18-20 graduate MA students in Art History.
Position Summary
SAAH invites qualified artists and educators to join our adjunct faculty pool for possible non-benefited part-time teaching positions in Studio Art. This posting will serve for multiple openings in areas such as: Art Foundations (2D Approaches, 3D Approaches, Drawing, Concepts), Color Theory, Intermediate/Advanced & Life Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Ceramics, Sculpture, Photography, and Time-Based Practices.
We offer both BA and BFA undergraduate degrees in Studio Art, and adjunct instructors will primarily teach classes at the introductory and intermediate levels.
Adjunct faculty are compensated at a rate of $4,000 per course, and may teach up to a maximum of six courses over three ten-week academic quarters (Fall, Winter, Spring).
This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.Essential Functions
