The Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks an assistant professor with expertise in social studies education with an emphasis on multicultural education. The position begins September 1, 2019.
We are seeking a collaborative and creative colleague who shares UMass Boston’s commitment to urban populations and social justice and who possesses inclusionary, transdisciplinary, and global perspectives on social studies education. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the development, growth, and enhancement of students in the middle/secondary education program through teaching, advising, and curriculum development. Strong qualitative or quantitative methodological expertise is expected. In particular, we are seeking scholars working on the leading edge of Social Studies Education and Multicultural Education research, specifically on learning in urban, diverse, immigrant contexts.
