DESCRIPTION
A CRNA is a registered nurse and advanced practice nurse who works in collaboration with anesthesiologists, surgeons and other physicians and medical professionals to deliver anesthesia for medical and surgical procedures. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Provides cares for a patient before, during and after a medical procedure or surgery by performing a patient assessment, preparing the patient for anesthesia, administering and maintaining the anesthesia to ensure proper sedation and pain management. Oversees the patient recovery from anesthesia and caring for the patient's immediate post-operative needs. Responsible for pre-operative assessment of the surgical patients and administers anesthesia under the Direction of an Anesthesiologist via inhalation. Responsible for the pre-operative and post-operative care of patients, maintain constant care of the patient by observing, interpreting, and recording blood pressure, EKG, oxygen saturation, end tidal CO2, anesthetic concentration, and temperature, as appropriate while watching for any significant physical changes or unfavorable condition in the patient. In consultation with the anesthesiologist, takes any necessary action as determined by these changes or conditions. Keeps the surgeon informed of significant changes or events occurring intra-operatively.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree and a current CRNA license. Current licensure to practice as an Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in the State of Florida. Three years related experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills/. Ensuring compliance with local, state and federal health regulations. Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques. Performs in tactful and professional manner. Patient safety is a top priority.
