Duties: Reporting to the Associate Director Prospect Researcher, responsible for handling daily research requests and proactive research projects. Use departmental, DAR, University and Internet resources to select, organize, summarize and prepare for assigned schools, centers, and central programs qualitative research prospective donors and alumni leaders containing biographic, demographic and financial information about prospects, assess the giving ability and inclination of prospects using established departmental guidelines to improve the overall quality of assigned schools, centers and central programs' pools. Update records accordingly. Conduct daily news searches in order to both proactively identify prospects and update research on existing prospects. Prepare analysis for all DAR staff and update records accordingly. Work proactively with assigned schools, centers and central programs to identify and define their fundraising needs, and develop and maintain a plan to meet these needs. Engage in professional development activity. Use guidelines to contribute to overall prospect pool growth and quality. Use aforementioned resources to summarize and/or update alumni records. Log research assignments into office activity log and update regularly.
Qualifications: Bachelor' Degree and 1 - 2 years of administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with Internet based searches required. Familiarity with research resources such as LexisNexis, EDGAR or Newsbank highly desirable. Detail orientation with demonstrated ability to compile, organize and communicate information from diverse sources required. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required. Excellent working knowledge of office procedures, practices and methods, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. Excellent basic writing & proofreading skills necessary. Ability to work on multiple projects and meet tight deadlines essential. Demonstrated ability to work independently or as a team member essential. Will be required to work Homecoming and Alumni Weekend. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
