Ursinus College seeks a tenure-track assistant professor in world history to begin in Fall 2019. Candidates should be able to design and teach dynamic and inspiring courses, establish an ongoing program of scholarship, and value collegial teamwork. The ability to teach both comparative history courses and courses on different geographic regions is highly desirable, as is the ability to teach comparative colonial and postcolonial histories. The ability to contribute pedagogical or research expertise not currently present among departmental faculty is preferable. Contribution to existing interdisciplinary programs and digital humanities experience will also be positively considered. The course load will be 3-2 and college service and supervision of student research will be expected. Courses will include the modern world history survey and the first-year interdisciplinary seminar (Common Intellectual Experience) as well as new lower-level and upper-level offerings of the candidate’s design in European, non-western, comparative, and/or world history.
